Just putting the feelers out to see if there is any interest in my Disco.
It was laid up 7 months ago due to a death in the family and ran out of MOT in April and is on SORN.

I had it MOTed this week and it failed on poor brakes and rough steering and headlight aim and no pattern on one side so IMO will need disc's and pads all round a track rod end and maybe a PAS box new headlight adjusters and maybe a headlight but it was full of condensation.
It needs no welding at all as this was done by a previous owner.

So we have a 1995 M Reg 5 door 300 TDI Discovery in Montpellier Red ( Burgundy) with sand trim.
Freestyle alloys with Insa Turbo traction track tyres with loads of tread on them.
In fair condition for year but does have marks and scratches and some oxidisation on places, the bumpers are a bit scruffy, the front diff whines a bit as there is a leak on the housing where is has been bashed and repaired by a previous owner.
The central locking is a bit hit and miss as you would expect and the rear wiper is not working but the windows are ok.
The interior is ok but not perfect but is clean. No stereo.

A previous owner has spent a lot of money on it as it has had all the usual welding done as far as I can tell with some very heavy duty box section sills fitted and the floors and boot floor repaired.

It has no sunroofs but a few bits of rust around the alpine lights.

185,000 miles on the clock but starts first time and has the usual crunch into 2nd gear if changing too fast. It has had a VIC check around 2006 so was most likely a cat c write off which was repaired but cant see any signs of major damage.

When I bought it last year It had the following new parts fitted to keep it reliable.
Timing belt and tensioner, water pump and gaskets inc P gasket, serpentine belt , thermostat, header tank, top and bottom hoses and I had the radiator reconditioned by a local firm and fresh coolant.
Also had a oil and filter service. and a paddock sports exhaust system fitted. This lot came to just under £400 in parts. It has done very little miles since as it was laid up.

I don't have the time to sort it myself at the moment but I wont give it away either no doubt I will have forgotten some things and I will try to get some pics up but we all know what a 300 disco looks like.
Any questions I will get back to you as soon as I can

Car is in Sheffield near J31 of the M1. Collection only

I want £850 ovno

But they all need bucket loads of welding.
If I don't get an offer close to what I want then I will wait and sort it or may break it.
I'm in no rush.

I picked up an R reg 300tdi premium ES last night with no mot or tax, solid body and chassis with just a small hole needing a patch on the sill and some rust on front inner wings as usual for just over £700.

It sounds to me your best bet is to do the bits for the mot then the discos are worth so much more.

The one I brought needs the minimum ammount of work to get it through so I have been lucky.

prob best to do work. been watching for a few weeks. and if your patient they usually

welding - 400
no welding no mot - 600
12 months mot standard model with your mileage - 1000-1100

just trying to be honest with you. mot maybe your best bet. would be a shame to break

Like I said Im not really in any rush but at the moment I don't have the time to do the work.
I will get some pics up over the next few days could not do it today as I was on a fishing match.

As for the negative comments on price well just keep them to your self as it on here to sell and I didn't ask for a valuation.

The price is open to a near offer but I know how much they break for and I have the space to do it and it is just my weekend runabout which I use mainly for my fishing trips but I have other transport at the moment.

hope your fishing went well :D if you do break it can you nudge me as i might take some parts of you. tight lines

Cheers bud not a very good day as it was very cold overnight but I did catch and came 5th I think so cant complain.

Not decided what to do yet just putting the feelers out at the moment.
If it dosnt go then I will do the work when I get time and will keep it.

points are not negative they are to assist after all it is an open forum and it happens on most of the posts. they were intended to assist not offend.

i with you every luck with whichever you decide to do

But if I wanted assistance I would have asked for a valuation.
Ive been around motors for a long time and I do keep an eye on prices.
At the moment you would be lucky to find anything half decent below £7-800 mark and they are starting to go up ready for winter.

The pics do make it look a bit better than it is but its in fair condition and looks good when polished up.
You cant see the scratched and minor scuffs in the pics.

Well stu came earlier but was not very happy with the previous owners welding so gave it a miss. I appreciate him coming but am sorry he had a wasted trip.

So if no one else is interested then it will be repaired when i have time ready for the snow.
