IF ALL ELSE FAILS SHOOT THEM!
Hi,
I've posted this on other forums, anybody help?

Right, I've got some poxy Clarion/Rover head unit in my 95 Disco and want to be able to fit the correct Land Rover head unit to allow me to use the switches on the dash to control it as whoever owned it before has removed the original one but the wiring is all still there.

So does anybody know what would have been the correct unit and what part number for it? Or does anyone have one that they don't want with the code for it as well?

Cheers,
Steve

Mine is a Philips unit that I pulled out of my 94 V8 ES (300). This one has the multichanger under the front passenger seat and the subwoofer in the back door. Type no DC710/61E and RG Part No AMR 2195. However, it is pretty rubbish so I replaced with a Sony unit (with usb and aux input for ipod) with a remote control (which I use all the time as I can use it without looking) for £100 and a new set of 4 speakers for £60.

Regards,
Pat.

Bluestrobe, from MA081992 to MA163103 the pt.no is AMR2195LNF for the Phillips unit which is compatable with the cd auto changer and a sub if they were fitted.

As u don't have the auto changer do what patl has done and fit another head unit with an MP3/ipod input, although I think the LR head unit is good especially after up grading the speakers and the sub, but I think the MP3/ipod is the way forward.

The dash remote switches dont always do what they are supposed to do, so I'd forget them.

Regards

I went to Halfrauds when they had Kenwood units half price and popped one of them into me RRC. Haven't managed to get the subwoofer working right yet, as I believe it needs a separate amp, but ipod input, CD etc for £49 was a bargain.

I have a Philips DC470 radio/cassette out of a Rover 216 if anyone wants it ;)

There's a guy on ebay does a cable for kenwoods that you plug into the wiring harness and it fires the Sub up. I'll post the link in a mo. My mate fitted one to his kenwood last week. Makes a huge difference to the sound.
