Disco 1 300 tdi auto

So used the Disco to pull a trailer at the weekend and it killed the box.
Started hunting from second to first and loss of fluid. Finally lost all drive with a dirty puddle of ATF under the motor. Recovered it home, re filled with oil. The box makes a horrible noise and refuses to select any drive. Looks like it is dropping oil at the point the box is joined to the engine at the top?
Is this a normal fixable thing or is the box fecked?

Sounds like clutch packs hsve given up.id say its easier to change box than do the clutch

Have you got any gears at all. When my clutch pack went on my old auto i still had 1st and reverse. No drive 3 or 2 just 1 and r.

could be low fluid due to cooler pipe leak if no other symptoms were present

Cheers James, I still had some drive once I had it home. After it sat for a few days and I put about 5 litres of oil back in it, it now wont do anything. Is there any pipes around the back of the rocker?. Is it possible to loose oil from the point the box is bolted to the block?

oil cooler pipes run from front of box alongside the engine ,if its coming out of the bell housing and not spraying over it it would be t/c or seal issue, there was no vibration first ?

No vibration just dropping from second to first and back again. Is the seal an easy job?

ok so looking to drop the box out tomorrow. I filled it back up with fluid and it drove ok then started loosing all drive, as I guess , it lost fluid again!.
I managed to get in to the barn with it , so just need to drop the box. Any tips or advice on removing it please?
