On some of the sereis wheels i have lying around i have three (what can only be described as poky out rivet fastener things) around the center hole. Does anyone know what these are for?

I think they are in fact trailer wheels and are for a wheel trim, i had one the same and this is what my mate told me, it sounded feasible so i gave it to him!
Check the diameter of the centre hole i think its smaller than the series ones

If you want to sell them or swap them depending where you are we could do a deal. need to see a pic first tho.

I already have 2 which are on my trialer 2 more would make a decent set!

...Could be old Austin Gipsy wheel rims - if so they have a much better offset and much sought after by those who do trialling as they allow a much tighter turning circle - could get yourself a fair few quid for them if they are?

You can try. I have a pair pretty much worthless now tho as they are tubed type. Plus you can buy a new one tubed or tubeless with more offset better steering lock for £30.

They are indeed for hub caps I believe these are not austin Gypsy rims but really early LR rims or later trailer rims. However these may be worth more than you think to the right person. It might be worth asking some restorers especially if you can match a date stamp on the rim. I was looking for austin rims to match the 2 I already have.

Cheers Jai ill have a good look over them and see if i can uncover some dates.

I have a pair of 1948 rims but they are a bit bent but was offered some dosh if they were straight always worth a try Jai

Jai,

Happy for you to bid on the seats as per earlier messages... (I have 2No AG rims, but would need a bloody good offer to part with them)

Indeed these are not the same as the Austin Gipsy rims that I have, so agree that they are very likely early land Rover rims ?

I have a good selection tbh going tubeless tho and ARC regs atate that 4 inch max offset from the naive plate so Austin rims are bang on. Wolf rims are nearly there bsing the same offset as 130 rims and I have a couple of 2b rims but again going tubeless asap so looking at spinning some rims around to make 4 inch offset. All this is pointless now tho because I am in the process of fitting a rangy axle to my 80 inch as part of a rebuild so the extra width will help and I can use inset rims to keep my overall width as narrow as poss.
