hi,i have the 3 dash lights on my td5,plus the handbrake,so handbrake, hill decent abs and tc,the garage said its the abs sensor on front left and right, but said probs just left.they say i cant change just the sensor, well they can but it wont work, something about a ring breaking deteriating or something.so he changed the whole hub, front left for £240.didnt get home, lights back on,back to garage,he says front right has gone now.is he having a laugh? another £240 to do another hub,or can i just use a sensor off ebay etc?
he said it defo wont work,
but he drives a brand new disco, these come from selling people new hubs instead of sensors i feel??
will i have to get the fault cleared to get lights off?
many thanks for any help

YES u have to......and after u claered them and the abs is still on just go for a ride and it'll go off.........common fault and replaceing just the sensors doesnt solve the problem......it's happening mostly when the bearings within the wheelhub are getting threaded.

thanks for the reply,so there is no way you can just change the £35 sensor?
its needs another hub?
ben:(

It's very easy to replace the sensor but my oppinion, and not just mine, (smarter guys than me are saying the same) >> www.discovery2.co.uk / Front Wheel Hub / Bearing Assy replaceing bthe sensor wont solve the problem.......the scanner can't tell u it's the bearing but the fault shown as sensor fault usually it's generated by the bearing.......anyway u can take a chance and replace just te sensor to see what happens(maybe u are lucky)..... this sensor is a very compact bit and rarely fails.
