Hi All, after not using disco for a few days, had a backfire on lpg so switched to petrol, and discovered a miss, most noticible in high gears.replaced coil ht lead, plugs, and checked plug leads, rotor arm and dizzy cap (visual).missfire still there,so replaced coil.missfire,if anything seems worse.Any suggestions on next move most welcome,as I was going to replace all plug leads next

I bought a '95 3.9 Discovery a few months ago; the service history showed that it had received copious amounts of injector cleaner each year, presumably to try to cure a low speed misfire and poor cold running but without success.
I replaced the full HT lead set with a good quality silicone set and the misfire and poor running has gone. There engine is also much smoother at higher revs and seems to have more pull. Definitely worth a try.

If you was running on the vehicles original leads then they were rubber and would have broken down and caursed a misfire, most manufactures now supply silicone leads even Land Rovers genuine part replacement leads are now silicone, but there's silicone leads of poor quality around.

And :welcome:

Thanks guys,I will go for a set of good silicone leads,as the previous owner has never had a problem before.
