do you know if i can connect lpg to the injection system on a rangerover 3.5 v8 and run only on lpg

yes it efi
is yours connected to the air intake, mine was but it kept back firing and breaking the air flow box
i was told that you can connect to the injection side but i dont know how
as this is going into my offroader that only has lpg connected to an old v8 p6 i was hoping i could run the efi the same
i might have to change to carbs and hope this works

It depends.
If it is single point injection, you could 'cheat'. Not exactly perfectly safe, but it is possible. Along the gas fuel line, there are a series of solenoids. If all these were open using a push button (Definitely not a switch) wired to the positive feed of the solenoids, fuel (gas) will flow and when you turn the ignition will almost certainly start. I once ran out of petrol, but still had plenty of gas, and used this method to get going.
As long as the power to the push button was ignition fed, it shouldn't be too unsafe.
Multipoint injection is different, but not impossible, as they have solenoids on each gas injector. It may also cause the LPG brain to have a fit though.

I read a thread about someone doing this. Sorry cant remember much detail but it involved running liquid LPG into the fuel rail for the injectors and doing away with the vaporiser. I think a pump was needed aswell.

why can't the engine start on lpg, i mean technically, why are they set up to start on petrol. is it the heat needed in the lines to the vapouriser?
couldn't you heat the vapouriser with a heater and start on gas after a few seconds? maybe a heated seat heater would do the trick?
after all gas fork trucks start on gas as they don't use petrol at all. it would be usefull if you did run out of petrol!

i have a p6 that runns only lpg it starts and runns without any problems even in the middle of winter
i will try my efi later today if i get time
and let you know if someone has done this let me know before i blow my landy up (neaver played with lpg before)
