My second gear has trouble slotting in without grinding?? Sometimes it works fine other times i can hear the cogs grinding. Any clues its an 200tdi 110

I guess the problems are when it's cold.

Try leaving a slight pause when going from 1st (or third) in neutral before putting it in 2nd, then doing it slowly and purposefully. Gently gently catchee monkey!

not sure what gear box i would assume original and also not sure about the cold as i have not driven it much

It will be an LT77 and eirther the syncro is going on the gearbox or the clutych isn't engaging properly - you could try checking all the levels for starters, this might help a bit, but most likely is the syncro - just take it easy and change into gear a bit more slowly - don't fling it in, just do it slowly and firmly.

revers is top left and a pain in the arse as sometimes i put it in reverse instead of first.

thats an LT77 then - reverse prob is a spring and ball - easy fix....

crunchy box - they all tend to do that - as said - live with it or get an exchange gear box.

Sounds like the gearbox is a bit tired. Just take it a bit easy with it and it will get you a few more tens of thousands of miles, but look after it!

Like i said, check all fluid levels, especially the clutch!
