Cheers chaps. Hopefully a little test run this eve. Shocks to put on, fuel tank, coolant in, hubs on. Few little bits but not a right deal to do. I’ll let you know how I got on this evening

Well, sorry about the radio silence chaps. After being un-furloughed a month or so back I have had next to no time for my own projects. But this afternoon may see some action! Clutch and brakes to bleed, Props to connect up, Hubs on and then hopefully a little test drive.

It has been hard walking past the Landy every day for how every long knowing there is only a days work left in it... let’s see what I can get done..

Come on yer slacker get it done :p

Clutch and brakes are all sorted. I would like a new reservoir at some point as mine looks like it’s not going to hold up much longer. Prop shafts are back on. I just need to find the box that I put somewhere safe with the hub gaskets in it before I continue... if it doesn’t turn up in the next hour or so I’ll run out and get some. Today may well be the day guys!

Freewheeling hubs back on, as are the rear half shafts and drive flanges etc.

Upon further (more sober) inspection, my clutch is not bled up. It is pumping through clear fluid bleeding it up at the slave. But it requires pumping a couple of times before it gives resistance, and acts on the clutch. The slave pushes the rod out on the first pressing of the pedal, and the second pump gives it the last bit of travel it needs. I’ve wasted god knows how much fluid though it but only pushing out clear fluid with no bubbles. But seems like there is still air in there? Or is my push rod out of the slave cylinder too short? It looks buggered about on the cylinder end and the clevis is adjusted out as far as I dare.

ALL new bits, no leaks as far as I can see.

I’m stumped!

Sorted! I ended up extending the push rod out of the slave cylinder by 7/8”, so I had a small amount of free play before it was acting on the clutch leaver proper. It’s perfect.

Moved under her own power for the first time since it was pulled apart. I’m a happy lad. Is it too early for a celebratory beer......?

When you coming laning then Joe? :p

As soon as I can! Where do you get out? I need to get it registered.. while I’m sorting that it’ll give me time to do the last few bits. I’m absolutely over the moon. Feels like all the graft and bloody knuckles are coming to fruition.

Usually Wales but I might have to go a mooch around the peak district with @callisr to give it a bit of a shake down :D

Well, I hope everyone is ok.. my furlough time was a blessing with regards to the Landy. 2 weeks is a good chunk of time!

When you’re in the peaks please do let me know, I’m only down the road. Be great to get out

Shall do,
It'll give me a chance to rebuild the carb on mine and have a tinker with the brakes

I’ve not been on here for an age again! I do always feel slight guilt as I only seem to consistently post on here when I’m after advice etc!

The Landy has been on the road properly for the last couple of months now. Absolutely loving it. I’ve had a few teething problems..
A nasty knock from the steering box turned out to be an easy fix. PO had replaced the gasket with some silicon type stuff.. and while doing so neglected to put the washer back on the fork which runs in the machining in the cover plate. It was rattling around in the bottom of the box!

Had oil leaking out the rear axle, which I found strange as I replaced all the seals. Then I noticed I hadn’t swapped the breathers for the new ones I’d bought. Whoops! Needless to say it was completely blocked up. That has sorted that, though oil has already got onto the rear shoes so I’ll have to replace those.

I just need to get some new (wheels?) and tyres for her now and a new tilt...

Hope you’re all cracking on!

Cheers,

Joe
