2010 RR L322 Alarm keeps randomly sounding

Morning All, For some reason my 2010 RR L322 TDV8 alarm keeps sounding intermittently, I recently had water enter through my drivers side front pillar due to the right hand sunroof drain hole being blocked (another issue I'm struggling to solve) anyway the floor was soaked so I've dried it as best i can and exposed the pillar and footwell covers around the bonnet release and found 2 large mulit plugs.. the bottom one has signs of Verdigris on some of the connections so I've electro cleaned these as best as possible but its still the same .. randomly going off.. Any suggestions ?

Update ..its not the actual alarm sounding as this is the main car horn ..this is more of a higher pitch chirping and comes from under the drivers front wheel arch ..and no it ain't a bird !!!
 
When j disconnected the bottom of the 3 multi plugs it stops ..today I stripped out the multi plug cleaned all the terminals but still seems to be the same. I'm thinking next move is either find this sounder and kill it or take out thd seats and carpet tk expose the wiring loom to seem if I can spot anything

Have you the got a BBS, battery backup sounder, it’s tucked away in the far left corner under the bonnet when facing the vehicle? Up next to the windscreen.
A common fault is the bonnet pin switch for the alarm that fails but not sure for your year and you already seem to be onto something with your wet electrics .

The back up battery in the BBS sounder fails over time and it beeps to indicate replacement needed, at least that is the case with some of these alarm sounders.

That will be the just the battery, sounder unit will or should be okay.

But then it’s battery is not that important, other than in an alarm condition the sound only indicates the vehicles power supply to the sounder is missing, which won’t happen if the BBS has an iffy battery.:(
 
So the alarm is the main vehicle horn this thing is high pitched and seems to be coming from the dvrs side external vent panel ..before it would sound for 30 secs and go off now its sounding all the time when I lock it.. when I then unlock the car it goes Bleep Bleep...doing my nut in having to disconnect the wiring loom each time
 
I'm not sure if you can set the alarm to be the horn or the sounder as an option - If its bleeping when you lock the car then it's not an aftermarket item that somebody has tucked away.
Do you have any diagnostics you can connect to look for faults in the alarm system ?
Do you have a sounder up next to the brake fluid reservoir, lift you bonnet up when its going off and stick your ear next to it, you will know if it is there ?:)
I think it is your alarm and is either malfunctioning because of the water ingress or something is triggering it like the bonnet switch.

Ok so its defo coming from the brake fluid area and when I arm the car and press the bonnet switch its chirping away, when I release the bonnet switch the main car alarm horn goes off and the chirping stops, I can disconnect the bonnet switch and ot makes no difference...mmmm

Look a bit further down, the alarm siren is down there some where.
 
We had a thread a while ago Whats this wire and the answer seamed to be the wire for the disconnected alarm sounder that chirps, and that was round by the brake unit.
 
Your model is a lot newer than mine and I don’t have a later manual but to me it would make sense that if you have a battery backup sounder it would let you know if the battery backup is no longer working as @Datatek mentioned earlier.
You have what looks to be the ABS module in the place where my BBS is but would make sense it is there somewhere and has either lost its power supply , maybe fuse, or it’s backup battery is unwell.
 
I dont think it's a battery issue more along the lines of water ingress ..some water ingress to a plug, power cable etc..be good to know which wire it is to disconnect ..I cant see anything looking down due to the brake units and distribution block, servo etc
 
It would make sense if it is making an irregular noise as water could be bridging across a connector somewhere and intermittently connecting the BBS to power i guess.
You need a wiring diagram off a later model, i don't thin the one I have will cover your year.

Do the indicators flash when it starts talking to you ?

This is taken from Rave but I think it will be different for your model but might be worth a look.

Battery Backed-Up Sounder (BBUS)
The BBUS (C0666) is mounted adjacent the brake servo, and is provided a constant battery
feed by fuse 43 of the passenger compartment fuse box (C0586) on an RN wire. Dependant
upon market configuration, the BBUS can emit one of three tones:
Continuous.
Pulsed.
Modulated.
When the anti-theft alarm is armed, the BCU (C0661) 'switches on' the BBUS by providing
a pulsed voltage signal to the tilt sensor (C0960) on a BS wire. This signal is relayed to the
BBUS (C0666) on a BG wire.
When the alarm is triggered, the BBUS (C0662) provides a feed to the BBUS (C0666) on a
BU wire. The BBUS (C0666) is earthed on an N wire.

I don't know what the pulsed or modulated sound is ..

Pulsed is beep stop, beep stop and so on, modulated is a rising and falling tone frequency
 
Yea this was beep stop beep stop etc ...however as an update as I hate it when people do a fix and dont feed back...

I lifted the drivers footwell carpet as high as possible removed the main loom out of its channel running through the footwell and untied the spiral wrap got my 600 degree heat gun and lightly warmed it along with the plugs by the bonnet release, there were 4 cable ends in the loom stripped of the tape cleaned the soldered ends and retaped just ensure there wasnt any high resistance.. low and behold..bleeping has stopped.. just got to some how unblock the drivers sidefront sunroof drain now !!!
 
Top darts ! , well done for sorting the problem and even better for reporting back how you fixed it. Nothing worse than following a thread through that has an identical problem and then no answer.
