L322 2010 Interior lights not coming on when entering

Bit of strange one but the lights don't come on when I open the door, I can turn the lights on when im in the car and when I get out and lock it they go off, but when I re-enter they don't come back on .. am I being stupid and its a setting that I need to set up or is there some sort of weird configuration .. not that it should matter but its a 2010 Overfinch TDV8

Does it happen with opening any door or just the driver's?

it doesnt come on when you open any of the doors

Possible a setting in the BCU is changed to not turn the lights on on entry - seems odd - but could happen. As everything on these cars is 'up to a computer' to decide what happens and when, rather than a simple switch that completes a circuit, I would advocate getting the BCU on diagnotics and check the user preferences.

Due to electrical spikes, or low battery volts, settings in ECUs can randomly change as they get confused....

Thanks Saint ill give it a try when I take it in for the tank to be looked at .. do you know anything about electrical side steps ??

not anything of note that could help diagnose anything.....other than they are powered by electricity, use a motor or actuator of some description, operated by a computer and they are so cool I wish I had some on my P38!

yea they are cool when they're working. It comes out but just seems to go back in slightly on the **** causing it to Obstacle detect and come back out again. Ill have to check my head under there when it stops raining and have a butchers, maybe its one of the retracting arms stiffer than the other ...
