Not what you're asking but I read in a magazine recently that one of the resto companies has a load of RR 2 door body shells.

Lep me put this another way - I'm not interested in HOW to make a V8 100" or how to fit my v8 into a 90 or 110. There are so many different ways to do it.

What I'm interested in are the complications.
This has to be a road car - what does it really mean to VOSA etc?

Major changes to the chassis and body will affect the id of the vehicle requiring an SVA but may lead to it being Q plated. I'm not sure about replacing the body with a defender one though but I think it needs reporting to VOSA if you go ahead with it. I was worrying about a similar issue with my rebuild project with minor changes to the chassis however I came to the conclusion that all the mods I'm doing are minor changes between defenders but at the end of the day it is still a defender 90 with all defender parts on it.

By the letter of Vosa, ANY chassis mod needs SVA.
So does this apply to repair patches?
I dunno, but from what I gather, it definitely applies to shortening chassis or adding outriggers.

It's a bit wooly though. What if you welded on a becket to the chassis for a winch, or for LPG?
It's the kind of rubbish I want to avoid.
