I have noticed my tank is leaking on my disco, can't see where from as the diesel is dripping from various places. I am guessing I will be needing a new tank!

Are the fuel tanks different on the 300 as I have seen one going for £25 on ebay but if it ay gonna fit......!!

If so can anyone anyone point me in the direction of a landy breakers not too far from the walsall area as I don't wanna drive too far while its leaking.

I'm assuming changing the fuel tank is not too difficult on a disco??

Check that the return pipe is not leaking at the top of tank some times you can get a pin prick hole in the metal pipe and this will spray or drip on the top of the tank were it goes into the sender unit.

i'm 90% certain the tanks are interchangeable, but anyway, i agree with the other poster. It's likely to be one of the pipes on the sender unit. I replaced the unit on my mate's disco, and the pipes were so brittle, the slighest movement crumbled them.

Carpet up, foam up (or pull out the cutout), circular plate up, inspect.

Can't see any leaks on the pipes but there is some diesel on the top of the tank so it may be leaking where I can't see it.

.....cringe at the rust you find on the boot floor....refit carpet and leave the rust for the next MOT! :) haha

 I have a hole in the boot floor immediately above the exhaust pipe, looks like another fookin repair on this moneypit!!!! Thought I'd started getting high every time I drove to the shops!:D
I'll have to get this done at the same time as the fuel tank cus the MOT's due in may.

Just noticed part of the exhaust tailpipe is missing, another piece of kit I gotta buy for this damn disco!

It doesn't have a silencer on the rear pipe but the examples I am finding online all do, where can I find a pipe like the one currently fitted??

Help!!!!

Just been messing with the fuel sender again and it was leaking from one of the metal pipes that was badly corroded, its now worse as I have obviously opened up the crack further.

I can't find anywhere local to me that has them in stock and I need my car!!

Anyone got any suggestions where I could find one somewhere near where I live??

As stated earlier I live in the walsall area.

Panic over, craddocks had 1 in stock. Fitted now and no leaks. Hope thats the end of it all.

Thanks to all who offered advice.

hi there glad you got it sorted as i had the same problem but i was in Spain, had a sender unit at home on a scrapper but no good there, so cleaned the pipe up with emmery paper dryed it with kitchen paper/grease remover hand wipes,, got some epoxy resin the sort you mix with two tubes.placed it over the hole left it over night next morning problem solved it got me back to S****horpe, and has kept me running for the last two years. so now i keep a tube in the Disco all the time with a hammer and Duck Tape.
