Nice.

Did you tap and bolt the bell housing on the lower studs? We found out that on a Tdi the lower bell housing bolts only reach as far as the cover not into the block. This means the weight of the engine and box could cause movement and cause the crank seal to fail and leak.

Sorry not a very good pic, but you can just make out the allen bolts at the bottom:

it shouldnt do ,any more than a turdo diesel or n/a

Not according to the info/conversion guide we used. Was also visually checked.

We could have just bolted the housing on, it would have looked ok, but the bolts would only have gone into the cover not the block. A Disco housing is different and uses longer bolts.

But no matter what housing you use, you don't bolt into the actual block? Am I right? From the conversion stuff I've read it's fine to use the td housing

200 tdi does have extra bolts going into ladder frame thats true ,the leak from rear of housing was more prevelent on earlier engine not because of seal but from rear main bearing cap , the gasket for flywheel housing on the whole cures that not the extra bolts and why using that gasket on earlier engines is a good idea too ,the 8 bolts that hold housing to block are more than enough though ,as it was on td and previous , but each way works as i know from experience and not fitting bolts wont bring on leaks that werent already there

Big day today, mot at 1 fingers crossed it passes.
Managed to kinda sort my head light problem, there is a little black box behind the dash with Lucas on it, anyone know what that is? Is it a resistor? And where do I get a new one from?
