Hi im currently in the process of preparing my self to put a 200di (non turbo) into my 2a 109. There are loads of threads on here saying what parts are transferable from an original series engine. However my landy has already had a poorly fitted 19j/2.5td installed. So the question is which parts can be used off this engine and will the 2.5td exhaust system work with modified exhaust manifold? Also every where i have looked it states that you need to aquire parts such as turbo blanking plate and the exhaust manifold adaptor but can any one tell me where to aquire these from.its a disco tdi by the way.

Many thanks Rob.

Rob, if you are going Di, then you could use the standard 2.25 diesel down pipe and a standard diesel exhaust (real cheap). The you need no exhaust adaptor, fabrication, turbo blanking plate etc. You can sell the existing manifold a turbo for some pennies.

Check glencoynes site for step by step instructions.

Good luck! I have put 5K miles on my 200Di in my SWB and I love that engine.

Cheers, read the glencoynes so many times and others but i wasnt sure what if any thing would be differnt due to the engine swop from the 2.25 petrol that my tank originaly was to the 2.5 td (19j) that its currently running.

I think what Protractor means is you can use the std n/a diesel ex manifold in place of the disco unit.

K but my question is how can i check what the exhaust system is on mine? Or is the 2.25 na n the 2.5td the same? I know it my sound like a silly question but this is my 1st landie, ive so far olnly owned beetles, prefects and pops, austin 7's, mini's and transits (mrk2's)

Have a look at the paddocks or craddocks website as they have line drawings of all the different types of exhaust.
There are loads of variations and i wouldnt worry about it until the motors in, then make it fit.
I made the one on my series, mate got one of the down pipes from e bay and fitted this to his std 2.5 petrol system, so anything is possible
