If you are going to release pressure from an air line fitting, wear gloves, high pressure air can do you damage. you will not have to wait 10 - 15 minutes, more like 30 seconds

Probably so, as you don't even want to know what the dealer wants to perform only diagnostics.

OK, you convinced me. Now, which one to buy? I already have an Actron CP9690 diagnostic tool. It works for reading and resetting codes and resetting DTCs. It doesn't provide diagnostics or the capability to resetting device and oil change intervals. I got it before I purchased the 07 RR.
There are many, don’t know what you have available over there. Or your budget.
I use IID Gap for our 2011 L322 and has done all I needed so far.
A lot of the guys will swear by thier Nanocom, ( I have not used)
There is BBS faultmate, ( top of the price tag)
But there are others icarsoft, lynx ,
Whatever you decide it needs to be RR specific.
They all have good points, and of course capabilities so do your research.
Search around on here many reviews.
