Hello every body, I have not been a owner of my Range Rover long I hope you can help with the following
Questions: Could you please tell me if you think my motor is a L320 or L322 as I am not sure because I have been told different things. I am sure I will get the correct answer here.

Second Question, I have a EPB problem the right hand cable has broken ( thats Driver side ) are you able to unscrew it from the Elec Box or do you have to have the complete EPB Box and cables replaced help with this question would be really helpfull

The cable can be replaced, not a 5 minute job though.

I have had a scrap EPB unit to dismantle out of curiosity. As far as I remember, the lid needs to come off the release and refit the cable. No Idea about the part number, I wouldn't touch any car with an EPB with a barge pole. I have one or both cables laying about, you can have them if you want to pay the postage. No guarantee that they will fit as things change all the time. I also kept parts of the mechanism and the control board.

You have an L320 if it’s a sport it’s basically the same as a discovery (L319 I think)
Getting to the cable is a right PITA from what I hear and similar to the discovery. I only have details for the 322 and I don’t want to particularly tackle it anytime soon, but @gstuart will have loads of distructions and pics if he’s about.
Do a search for it in the search bar it has been covered a few times.
Good luck.

Hi

here’s a few guides for u, indeed isn’t a 5 x minute job, spare wheel needs to come out to start with

Ref cables, drivers side clips in, passenger side screws in

is easier having diagnostic equipment to put the parking brake into service mode dismount mode

shoes will also req setting up after, also need to find out why the drivers side cable has snapped and if it’s done any damage to the module

also as a side note , as urs is a 2007 please ensure ur oil pump cover have been replaced , front and rear timing belts are due every 105,000 miles or 7 x years

hope that helps

That's not a fun job. Or a cheap job I'm afraid. Personally I'd just replace the the whole EPB module, which do come up on Ebay new sometimes. ;)

Hi mate

think I saw a company that does reconditioned them, maybe there also the ones you’ve seen on ebay

Video showing what it takes to remove the entire module and fitting a new one

can’t remember if u can remove both cables , inc emergency cable in situ and just removing the module , know the drivers side cable un clips , but passenger side is screwed in
