Hi
Can anyone tell me where the grey wire under the passenger side glove box wire goes. I can't seem to find the other end?

Hi readers I need some help with my Range Rover 2006 HSE UK RHD
I bought this car initially with the drivers seat and mirror not working due to the sunroof leak which I have now fixed
By fixing these isssues it has now decided to not let me open my tailgat at all. I have tried pushing the tailgate to close but it just stays locked. There is no movement but on the dash it says 'tailgate open' whereas it is closed. I have checked all the looms and they are fine the connectors are fine and I cannot find the issue.
ANYBODY WITH SUGGESTIONS PLEASE POST BECAUSE IM FED UP AS IVE TRIED EVERYTING
If the ECU thinks the boot is open, it's possible that the release mechanism is disabled. The easiest way forward is likely to be diagnostics.

it maybe needs tailgate door a hard shove latch maybe sticking worth a shot.

Hi

Until ur able to get diagnostics plugged in k See if this may work in the mean time

Push the tailgate and slightly downwards when pressing the lower tailgate button once ! It may take several attempts

How have u programmed ur Land Rover button on the remote plse as I know one of the options is to open the tailgate

When u lock the RRS don’t get a warning sound

The boot opens and closes fine when I manually over- ride the wires. But the boot doesn't open when I press the buttons on the tailgate. I have checked all the wires on the tailgate and they are completely fine. Do you know what the issue may be?

Switch in the button maybe, but the message on the dash suggests otherwise. I do hope you have not blown the ECU playing with the wires.

Hi

Ah i see, I read it wrong , lol

Sounds like the switch, have u used a multimeter to test it out

Seen a test somewhere, will see if I can find it

Hi

U must be a mind reader as I was just thinking the same with the possibly of any feedback

Also sounds like a switch but imagine using a multimeter can test that theory out

Hi

Just quickly another question is I may plse

Is it the lower tailgate switch or glass switch that doesn’t work plse, I’ve got s D3 so know the RRS are different,

Just to establish the fault a bit better

Also have u programmed ur remote to open the tailgate

At least with a code reader it should steer u in the right direction to save u starting to remove panels straight away, but does sound like a switch seeing if u override the motors the boot opens , assume all the fuses , voltages are ok at the tailgate switch

You are forgetting the dash message saying the boot is open.

The switch in the latch mechanism that tells the BCU that the boot is closed.

I have opened the switch and checked they work fine it's just when I close it the whole tailgate even the glass doesn't want to move. I don't hear any mechanisms moving and nothing happens

Am I the only one totally confused? The first post is about a wire near the glove box but evryone is talking about the tailgate and no answers re glove box?!?

That’s weird , I think it’s been changed as I don’t remember seeing that , looks like the first post was edited at 8.26 pm

If this is the same wire that caught me out many times.
It comes down behind the CJB behind the glove box & tucks up under the matting.

It goes no where. It's just cut & left.

Hope this helps,
