Where on earth do they get these bolts from?!?!?!?!? I've seen melted cheese with more durability!!!!
2 exhaust manifold to downpipe studs.
I've welded nuts to both of them twice and slightest touch and they just shear off again.
No thread left so only thing left is to chop them off and try the "Easy-Outs" on them.
Don't really want to drill them out as i'm not sure i can get in there with a tap to re-tap them.
Might end up with a bolt right through but getting on the back of it when tightening up will be fun........................NOT!!!!!

Had to do the core plugs on my van last week and sheared a stud on the cat flange like you weld a nut on it and out it popped 10min job....then thought that other studs thread looks a bit ropey ill change that one aswell...bloody thing sheared off flat to flange and took 3 drill bits and around an hour to drill out...wish I had just left it as is...

4 hours to drill and tap 2 holes!!! Spent more time sharpening drill bits than actually drilling.
Studs sheared like cheese but rock hard down the centre. Had to go really slow tapping as i didn't want to break the taps. Turn or two with taper tap then turn or two with bottoming tap. rinse and repeat!!!

Would have got it back together today but the dummies sent the wrong size exhaust couplers. Should be 2.25" and they sent 2"
Probably could have made them fit but new ones here sometime tomorrow so i'll fit them Sunday.

OK, back together today.
Seems to run slightly better and both banks now seem to be behaving the same.
Long term fuel trims still seem a tad high but not sure I've run it long enough yet.
New maf from amazon was a joke so I'll buy a proper one as that could be a cause of the excess trims.
Downstream O2 sensors are now reading the same at around 0.6v. Previously, bank 1 was swinging all over and bank 2 was reading 0.9v
Hopefully enough to pass the mot although I think there's still work to do.

Well, it passed by the skin of its teeth.
I'm not convinced I have got to the bottom of the issue.
Got some new parts arriving this week and we'll see if they make any difference!
