2003 TD4 BMW engine wont start

Can anyone solve this fault,i have unplugged the MAF sensor,Cam position sensor,Fuel pressure sensor on the end of the fuel rail,and the sensor underside of the induction manifold.I did this whilst cleaning the EGR body and crud from inside the inlet manifold,some of the crud has gone inside ports ! however,i never disconnected the negative lead and tried to turn the engine over in this state.
I refitted the now spotless EGR,and inlet manifold,i gave all the electrical sensors a spray with cleaning agent and attempted to start the engine.... spins over ok but wont fire up,I checked fuel pump and its ok,pumps fuel to HP fuel pump.
Ive got engine management light on dash,ive disconnected the battery for 5 mins,reconnected and light still there and engine wont start.
HELP Please before i set fire to the effing thing

Double check the connections, more importantly the cam sensor, and fuel pressure sensor.

It will still start and run with the MAF and MAP unplugged

Despite the guide slots, it is possible to refit the fuel-rail sensor back to front - this brings on the EML.

I know - I did this - d'oh!

Perhaps one of the others could be wrong fitted too.

thanks for the advise,got it started with a jump start.... the smoke that came out of the car was un-real.After a good run to clear its throat it is running real sweet
