2002 L322 Range Rover suspension malfunction

Air suspension fail warning appeared on a 350 mile run home. Shortly after the suspension fail warning, the compressor stopped running and the dash board suspension ride height toggle switch light went out. The front of the car fully sunk, but the rear either stayed on normal level or possibly rose to a higher level.

No fuses blown. The compressor runs when relay switch is jumped. I just bought a new relay (in post).

I have not yet obtained a wiring diagram - so if you have a link to one please let me know.

Be interested in finding out if the only way to fix it is by reprogramming the EAS module.

Sounds like a front air spring has gone and pump has over heated or is now worn out trying to feed the leak, if its front air spring gone change both the other one wont be far behind.

If you have no lights on the ride height controls, you will need diagnostics to read the fault...then fix it...then use diagnostics to clear the fault and re-establish the system.

I have a cheap Carly diagnostic tool which is not pulling up the fault code and can't reset the ecu for anything it can't read.
Do you know any low price diagnostic tools which will work on the Range Rover l322 and most other cars?
At the garage I go to (2 weeks back) they used an old windows PC with a serial port to ODB2 connection. That pulled up an ABS fault but did not see a suspension fault. Charged me £50 to press a few buttons for 5 minutes on the PC and didn't even give a print out, which I was not happy about.
Prior to MOT I replaced a left rear control arm but could not remove the ball joint due to rust. It passed MOT, but the ball joint may still have to be replaced. Since fitting the control arm the car sometimes makes a 'crunching' noise close to full lock on a right turn on inclines. I have overlooked something but as the front of the car is on the deck and I broke my 3 ton jack I can't investigate today.
Is there any open source or cheap Mac/PC/LINUX software I could use (with a ODB2 to serial or USB) to gain all system faults and reset the EAS?

RSW Allcomms is probably the cheapest, it runs on a PC.

Depends what you mean by 'cheap'. The RSW Allcoms seems to be the favoured system.

An Autel Elite

This tool worked well. Borrowed from a friend. Reset the fault to allow me to investigate and diagnose the suggested symptoms. Not sure of exact cause yet, but having kit like this will make life easier. The car is riddled with issues and I hope to update posts with my challenges and any solutions I think may be of value.

A cheaper diagnostic kit will do basic stuff but a dedicated system will give you everything you need.
I have an autel mx808.. It covers quite many cars but it cost me 500€ and 150€ a year in updates, it works well in the garage but even that isn't dedicated to Landrover and especially not the p38's!! If your keeping it get something appropriate to your model and then you'll be saving £50 every time you tap a couple of keys. If you sell the car, sell the tool with it.

I will probably invest in a dedicated diagnostic tool as this Autel now won't read or clear the fault. The nose of the car is -100% and too low to get over small kerbs or sleeping policemen, and the rear is +100%.
Anyone had that happen?
Is it a valve or an ECU problem?
The car has been parked in that position for 3 weeks. I lack enthusiasm right now to investigate, but feel motivated to ask experts on the forum.

You won't get anywhere without a diagnostic tool that can reset the ecu and calibrate/raise/lower the suspension. Once you have that you will then be able to start from post #2 and work from there.
