Hi all ,
My first serious post and I know this topic's been covered a bloomin lot but here goes.
2001 V6 Freelander Auto. Had bad vibration around 70 km/hr.
I have replaced the rear centre diff mount.
Relaced front section of tail shaft with new , and rear section had U/joints replaced , all balanced $1600, still vibration .
Replaced engine mounts myself and made up hydramount tool for $14 , engine mounts cost $360 with Britcar's help as they would cost $900 in Tasmania .
Helped but still vibration around 55 km/hr.
There's no vibration with the tailshaft off but the car is so much more stable with it on with our windy roads in Tassie.
I am thinking of replacing the other two rear LH and RH diff mounts to see if that helps but by now I am getting a little ****ed off.
Mind you I am pretty quick at getting the tailshaft off now though LOL.:D

Anyone with divine insight ?

Ok ,so if anyone is interested.

I took off the tailshaft again and this time I got under the diff and pushed on each shaft coming outa the diff and there seems to be too much movement there .
Now I've decided to buy some poly diff mount bushes and see if that sorts the problem.
To my way of thinking , the buggered engine mounts dropped the back of the IRD where it goes to the tail shaft joint, which in turn put pressure /stress on that cv joint causing it to fail which in turn put vibration /stress on VC bearings and tailshaft U/joints causing them to fail which buggered up the diff mounts.
Anyway , its a positive Fail Fail Fail Fail !

Maybe a Freelander moto could be ....if in doubt ...Change Everything !:p
