Just got this beastie to tow a bigger caravan. 126,000 miles on the clock but engine sounds good. I have found this forum invaluable for information regarding this vehicle and it's problems. So far i have removed the rear prop shaft as the VCU is on its way out, may refit when I can afford a recondition unit. Strictly speaking don't need the four wheel drive and the extra mpg would certainly help. I intend on removing the front prop shaft and VCU when I get chance. I found the PCV filter blocked solid with engine oil etc., as an interim fix i washed it in petrol and refitted it until the BMW dealer gets the vortex oil separator for me to fit. I intend on doing the EGR mod soon. Anyhow, thats me and mine, hello everyone!

Thanks for the welcome. Given all the faults on these motors beginning to wonder if I made a good decision getting one a freek-lander!
