Greetings from bankrupted Greece . I would like to ask your opinion in swapping a 200 tdi in rrc1992 .Do you think its duable, would you suggest another diesel engine swap, the car is a v8 and i can not bear the cosr of petrol anymore . every opinion counts and is respected.TThanks in advance

It's a straight forward swap , you will need a few parts ! Diesel fuel filter and housing , pipe work , rad and inter cooler, you may need to change the bell housing , etc best way would be to buy a rotten discovery !! All the bits you need will be there !! 200 tdi ! No electronics etc just a stop selonoid ! You might have to mess around with the exhaust but it is doable !!
Decent tool kit and patience you can do it in a weekend !!!
Good luck !!!

Its very doable. Did the same about two years ago.
Swapped the original 3.9V8 in my RR classic with a 200tdi with autobox.
The major work lay with modifying the engine seats on the chassis rails and rearranging the fuel lines minus the pump in the tank.
Wish you all the best in your conversion.

In completing my conversion, as can be seen in the photos, the engine and autobox were lifted in as a single piece. I first bolted the gearbox/transfer case into place, and found out that the engine mounts needed to be relocated on the chassis rails. With the engine still held in place by the hoist, the mounts were cut and aligned with the 200tdi engine seats and welded back on.
Since my RR Classic came originally with an autobox, I didn't see the point of putting in a manual which would require installing a clutch pedal, modifying the center console etc.
I imagine someone on here has done it before though...
Again, all the best mate.
