  Ive got major headache with my 200tdi. Just replaced timing belt as snapped. Reset the injection timing as it should be, lined up the crankshaft and camshaft as they should be, per Land Rover workshop manual. When put bakc together it will just about start after a couple of turns (maybe 4 or 5), but then runs really rough almost like fuel staved. No response at all on the throttle. Engine almost lollops if you know what I mean. No power what-so-ever.

Suspected blown headgasket as was burning oil, so replaced that. Oil burning is solved I think, but engine still running same.

Replaced injection pump with a really good, proven unit in case pump was knackered.

Fuel system thoroughly cleaned and bled, injectors proven chucking fuel in.

I proved TDC is correct with the crankshaft damper on.

Please help, what am I missing? Im guessing its got to be some sort of timing issue, perhaps wear in the engine meant previous owner moved sprockets from what the landrover manual says? Im really concerned that it wont respond to the throttle. I thought if the timing was out, that it should still rev up?

Any ideas please before I torch the vehicle?

Cheers, Mandy
