Hi All,

I've been reading a lot about 200 TDI conversions and noted that it was recommended that you retain the disco flywheel, then tap out the missing studs to M10 and counterbore for the 4 cap head screws/socket heads that screw into the ladder stiffener.

I bought an M10 counterbore but the pilot is too big for the existing M10 holes? The tooling company that sells them suggested I should try and M8 counterbore. Anyone else had this problem?

Cheers.

its not necessary ,i usually leave them out theres more than enough to hold everything

Thanks for your help guys.

I was originally going to reuse the old flywheel housing until I read that you were supposed to use the extra bolts at thebottom, otherwise it caused the rear crank oil seal to fail?

Also, is it ok to swap over the oil filter housing from my 2.5 NA? The oil cooler pipes from the NA connect at the new rad pack end but don't fit the 200 TFI oil filter housing.

Cheers.

not fitting bolts doesnt cause the leak or seal to fail ,leak from between housing and block is an old issue with lrs as is rear main oil seal bolts in rear of block already are enough to hold housing ,gasket as used with 200 tdis is as good as answer as any to leak.fitting the bolts is perfectly fine as is not

i just did my 200tdi conversion from a 2.5td. i didnt tap any holes out or swap the housing theres enough there to hold it. i swapped my oil filter housing over as the disco ones were not long enough with no issues

Cheers Skellon. I'll swap over the oil filter housing. It's tempting to swap over the flywheel housing as well but I prefer the disco one as it has the timing and drain hole at the bottom.
