right,a well covered subject I know...

I am done with bloody turbos :fighting:so im gunna make the defender a 200 Di,

as it is not a conversion but a factory fit TDi can i just make a blank plate and block the vacume pipe.?

do i leave the air run through the intercooler ?

Its just a 90 for local journeys so stopping and starting cant be helping the turbo, reckon this has been its downfall this time

would think air from filter to manifold , ignore intercooler. plus prob best to disable turbo somehow, ideal would be new manifold and remove turbo alltogether. just my opinion , take it no threads found ?

Hold the waste gate open and your see how **** it is reckon di will be about 80hp if your lucky

Think ya can buy conversions, peeps run em in Series. Supposed to be luvly in they. Sure ive sin it in mags, dunt buy em much they is silly money now.

yep dont need much power its just for tootlein about,
the turbo is leaking oil badly now and after just 2 years admitably heavy use the HG is also gone so the wagon is being demoted to light duties and getting some TLC...:rolleyes:

dont need a turbo so it aint getting 1,

I know just what yu mean, most of my mileage is off road and up and down the lane. I dont go fast when Im towing cattle and theres no motorway within 100 mles of here. If yer only using it forlocal work n/a is fine I know several that use them on farms. Google 200di Im sure ive heard of this conversion. Keep the bits you could get a recon if you need it later and refit.

it looks simple enough to do the job, save the bits yes cos if i want it turbo i can wack it on....
cant see the work being hard, just get on with it .i might try get another manifold so it can be a better route to exhaust.

anyone use these? that ok for head torqueing?

I would still draw air through the intercooler though because cold air is good for power and it would help especially in the summer.
