well finally my vacuum reservour turned up today

plus the clips , needle ur a legend and a life saver, bless u so much for getting me out the crap , a massive thks

ordered some silicone hoses and just bit the bullit along with the t clamps , as the old ones are very soft and just thought no point spending out on ordinary ones

got my inlet and air filter all in , synergy sent off for an update

going to also fit the breather kit that I can do within the engine bay

gave the engine a steam clean and suprising how much came off

will post some pics up when it's rebuilt again

well it up and running again , horay, , can really tell the difference that the synergy box isn't fitted

however it doesn't have that slight judder anymore in the engine , like a slight miss ,

it's alot smoother , maybe that down to cleaning the inlet manifold and also replacing the vacuum hoses from the turbo onto the vacuum reservour ??

just waiting for the new silicone hoses and then my synergy back and will do it all at the same time , along with the raised breather kit

will take some pics then of the synergy installation as well so it may help someone in the future

thks again

gstuart.... I know this is a while ago you posted this... but - your post is probably the only one I have found that gives some information on "how" the vacuum reservoir is piped up,.
The Hippo I'm working on didn't even have the reservoir fitted, and I read somewhere that it isn't completely necessary - although - it came with it, surely it is needed.

The problem I have (amongst several problems) is that there wasn't a single vacuum pipe fitted to the engine.
can I be cheeky and ask.... where exactly does the turbo end of the reservoir connect to?
I have the pipe from the vacuum pump - then into the reservoir, but then where????
does this go to the vacuum boost solenoid (three pipes attach) or elsewhere???
Also... my questions just go on and on and on - so please forgive me.... but on the vacuum pipe from the pump, there are two connectors.. one to the pressure vessel or reservoir, and the other goes to..... hummmmm..... hoping you could really help me here?
Can i be cheeky and ask you to take a pic of the reservoir in place, and help me with the connection of the vacuum hoses - the BMW diagram I uploaded to one of my posts isn't that helpful... unless I have a T-piece missing too (below the servo / behind the engine somewhere)

Kindest Regards,
Wayne

i addition to the above ..
some diagrams re vacuum layout and egr vacuum blocking ..

and .. the blackening of the air-filter overlay ..
comes via the water drain holes at the back-floor of the air-filter housing ..
big black spots match up to those holes ..
'n holes 'empty' out on top of .. or very nearby .. to the exhaust header
( as far as i can make out on mine )

Hi Wayne hope these pics help as well as the links above, reroute any damaged hoses so they do not rub.
