I've used 2SO for a couple of years now for a reduction in smoke and it's smoother and quieter.I also use comma 2SO as it cheap and green. So less chance of grief if they dip the tank. Yes I know they use chemical analysis of fuel now but if its red you could still get seriously bothered while they check.
I remember the sasol (south African state oil company) report from seeing it on a south African landy site. At the time people were looking into sasol fuel as people were reporting problems with their diesel. The general thoughts on the report was , ... well they would say that wouldn't they.
