Hi,

I have a 2.6cyl engine is this worth anything non-running or if it was running? And what are peoples opinions on these engines? I love to hear what people say.......

Thanks,

Daniel

I have one and have a few options:

1) Sell as is non-working.
2) Have fun... get it working.. and sell.
3) Fix and use it myself, though I like 2.25 being cheap and simple and common.... I don't know too much about the 6cyl apart from being more expensive on parts, they burn exhaust valves but are more powerful?

So what are the 2.6 litre 6 cyl inline n/a engines (just so you know what I'm talking about ;) ) like.... and what should I do with mine?

My immediate thoughts are 1 or 2 above.

Anyone? :)

well the 6 cyl injun is more expensive to run. very poor mpg. about the same as a v8!

is more expensive to maintain/rebuild as its got 2 extra cyls and its much rarer than the 2.25. which are common as muck and fairly cheap.

in its heyday LR were making 60000 series per annum, i wonder how many of those were 6 potters? not that many i guess?

but the 6 pot is a nice engine. as the yanks say, you cant beat cubic inches.
