tbh it night have got more with a better title - no disrespect to the seller - but I had to look hard to find it, plus peoples wallets are still haemorrhaging from Christmas put it up in a couple of weeks

The sixes are quite a good engine , but got a bit of a rep mainly due to buyers thinking they could neglect the six like they did the 4 cylinders , main point is dont neglect the ex valve clearance adjustment , do at correct intervals otherwise they burn valves very quick. From experience the mpg is same as 4 cyl petrol , as long as you dont get seduced by the extra grunt if you give it full throttle, plus the nice exhaust note before the V8 they developed more torque at lower revs than any other landy engine. Another point when they have a few miles
check for wear on the brass skew gear that drives the dizzy and oil pump , they were NLA about 8 years ago , and can get very worn with timing issues and eventually will suddenly lose drive resulting in engine stop :(

Hi guys, I know I haven't been on this post for a while and you have gathered it's now gone, sadly I had to let go of the old girl, nearly got her done, but sadly I lost one of my best Frainds and my grandfather last November and since then have not had time or energy to do anything like restoring Land Rovers! Hopefully I will get the chance one day to do something with another six pot, I do have another 2.6 engine and a v5 for a 88 inch, so who knows, anyways, thank-you all for your posts and support! Much appreciated, thanks, Tom.

That's okay, it's life! There certainly is, nothing stopping me building a 2.6 88inch! Always wanted one! Just a shame to have to let go of that 109 because I had a really good project there! Hay ho, thank-you for everyone's reply's!
