Help:mad:

MIL on reading o2 Sensor Bank 1 Sensor 2. However; scoured internet and cannot find an image that looks like my exhaust!
It appears that all the manuals tell me I should have 2 Sensors before Cat & 2 Sensors after Cat. This appears untrue, I can locate 2 Senors before Cat and only 1 after the exhausts (Bank 1 & 2) have joined together just about by the Auto gear shift cable exits underbody.

Is this correct?

Steve

My exhaust definitly does not resemble the image attached or the Rave cd image?? I have the 2 sensors on the manifolds - then the exhaust travels down and back toward the centre line of the car; where they join together - then Cat - then 1 o2 sensor. If the comp' reads Bank1 Sensor 2, then I'm guessing it can only be the sensor after the Cat? I believe my 2001 is a pre March model; were these different?

Steve

I'll be under mine at the weekend, so I'll have another look and confirm my setup.

Had a look at mine today. I have 1 sensor at the front where the 3 eggsourse pipes from the front bank join together. 1 sensor behind the enigne where the rear bank 3 eggsourse pipes from the rear bank join together. And one below the auto gearbox lever.

Thanks hippo; that confirms I'm not going completely mad:D

So i'm going to hazard a guess that when the computery thingy says Bank 1 sensor 2; what it really means is the only o2 sensor behind the Cat.

If it was either of the 2 sensors before the Cat it would read Bank1 (or Bank2) Sensor 1.

Think i'll have to bite the bullet and order a replacement/fit and reset error code; see what happens:5btoetap05:

Shall let you know..

Problem Solved. :D
1 New post cat o2 sensor fitted; reset fault code and hey presto, problem gone away.

Never ran so good, more responsive, smoother throttle and better engine breaking.

Big thanks again Hippo, cheers.

Thats now all mechanical problems solved; now onto some of those more annoying faults, sunroof click, brake squeal, minor bodywork etc etc.

Best landrover site ever:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

The doors dun't fall orf. I proved that in me video.

Clicking sunroof can be the motor gear suffering due to the gear or runners. Pull back head lining and push in the screw drive slit in the gear housing, and spay in some lube or simular. Also spray the runners.
