I'm happy to bring it over and give you a hand fit it too!
I wish I had known you when my Classic clutch drive plate fell apart 1000miles from home, had a three piece kit sent from my mate in Litherland, all was reasonably easy until it came to refitting the transfer box,on my own and only the Classic jack, not hydraulic:eek:. Took me a few attempts but what a relief when I got a couple of bolts in.:D

They are a hefty lump but they weigh nothing compared to the jap stuff. The front diff on my old Terrano weighed more than the box and transfer on my P38 combined!

I weighed my spare out of curiousity 112lbs was a bugger to slide under the car, side lift it on to my stomach then arch my back lift it on to the gearbox output shaft without damaging the oil seal.

When I had the box out of mine it all came out as one lump, but putting it back in I split them as the gearbox jack didn't like it lol.

It's like removing a flipping starship from under the car when it's in on piece:eek:
Thanks for the offer peeps, the silver scrapper may have to give up its rear diff àswell... Mine has a real good clunk when changing direction. The prop flange when gripped has a long contact time and has a notch feel on the take-up... 227.000mls and off roading is starting to take its tollo_O

time for an Ashcroft ATB!

Check the TSB. Have you put green Loctite on the shaft splines where they go in the hubs?
