Hi all, towed my caravan with my p38 manual the other day and was impressed with what power it had, however i have been advised of two power upgrade options.

1. A ''chip'' which maybe a harder way around things due to the difficult fitting;

2. or the second option was a ''psi powerbox''.???

just woundring has anybody use either of the above and what do you guys recomened, want something easy to fit and that is not gunna cost me the earth. Also heard of better fuel returns?? is this true?

any advice avalible please??

thanks.

I have just read up on the psi power box and it sound like a crap system for the money (£455). Go for the chip as this does the fuel and air mixture so creating more power with a perfect balance. The powerbox just seems to overfuel the vehicle which means more fuel a bit more power and alot of soot from he exhaust.

Hi mate. I have recently fitted a psi power box to my dse. The best thing i couldve have done. There is more power right the way through the rev range now and a lot more torque. It is a completely different vehicle to drive. We are getting 3 mpg better on just local driving (I live in cornwall and every where is bloody hills) There is no extra soot from the exhaust and on kickown there seems to be less. I havnt had anything to do with a chip in the ecu and wasnt to interested in them as they are a lot more specialist to fit and also not easy to remove if needed where as the power box took me 5 mins and couldve been fitted by a monkey. I bought mine of ebay for £200 but I have seen them go for less since !! Hope this is of help.
Cheers
Luke
