Hi , new to the P38a scene. Want to run my BMW engined P38a on WVO.

What is the best mix ? summer / winter
What it it best to filter down to ?
Does it harm the Diesel Pump ?
Does it harm the Fuel Tank Pump ?
Is it best to put a preheater on the fuel ?

Any thing else I should know ?

There we go - just for starters.

At the moment I am running on 4 gals of Costco veg oils to 1 gallon of Petrol , seem to run fine - any thoughts ????

Ok, as I've covered many thousands of miles on veg, bio and other fuels I guess I'm the man lol

What goes wrong.....
Well get set to change the spill pipes as they will go hard and crack
The FIP seals will start to leak and will need replacement (check my threads for how to guide)
The in tank pump will pack up eventually but chances are this would happen even if you use dino juice, again I have a guide on here for replacement

You will lose a little top end speed on SVO but shouldn't be affected on real bio, mpg shouldn't really be affected

You can cause gumming to the piston rings and injectors if too thick, have a sample of your fuel in a pot outside your car so you know what state the fuel is in the tank and lines!

Remember this is designed to run on dino juice and just becuase it will run on svo doesn't mean you should, but having said that, you're in the right place for help when things do go wrong :)

Happy motoring :)

Ps: do NOT mix your svo or bio with any other type of oil, as this will cause ring gumming lowering compression and knackering your engine

If you run a mixture of 75% derv and 25% wvo, is this likely to cause rapid loss of the fip?
