The. Electronic ignition module I used was a Accuspark Stealth unit. It simply replaces the old points and condenser. I put an Accuspark coil on too the lot cost about £45. I wasn't a fan of these units until I tried it but I have no regrets, it's a case of fit and forget. It takes about 10 minutes to put it on.Thanks for the replies guys, will double check the ignition & fuel lines tonight, I did pull the air filter when i got home from 4x4 trip no2 and there was no water thankfully....
Col, what electronic ignition system do you use? is it easy to install/what kind of price range are we talking? also did that fix the issues you'd been having? (There may already be a thread on this?)

Just looking again at your OP. Despite the improvements mentioned has the engine had an upgrade e.g. has the cylinder head been upgraded for unleaded fuel or are you still with the original engine? The puffy white smoke isn't good, something has happened? It's not a happy engine? If it's not leaking oil as posted it's burning it but you'd expect to see loads of blue smelly smoke? The symptoms maybe related to shagged out valves and consequent loss of power or worn pistons. Do you have mayonnaise signs in the coolant?

I considered a complete dizzy replacement for the electronic version but I want to keep the landy as original as possible. With the points replacement module, it only takes a few minutes to revert back to points. My dizzy is in good condition anyway so it seemed a waste to replace it. If your dizzy is worn, it might be worth the change to an all electronic one.
