No all I’ve done is tape up perished vacuum line collar and wiggled points to get a temp fix which then stopped working later. I’m waiting on the parts.

I plan to change points, plugs and cap and then maybe coil but keep electronic ignition and rotor etc. Sound like a good plan?
yes

When you said electronic module I assumed it was the type that replaced the points! is it not? is it one of those bulkhead units that piggy backs between ignition and dizzy?

It’s one like this! Just sits inside the old dizzy as far as I can tell.

That replaces the points...have you fitted it yet?...you need to remove condenser if you have...
Yes it’s already fitted which explains why I now have no condenser ;) sounds like you don’t need one with this kit? So just à plugs, leads and maybe coil swap to try.

It's not unknown for the Accuspark module to play up or even fail completely, although it's rare. This might be the case here. Some, who have fitted the electronic ignition module carry a spare just in case, in the same way that those with the old points set up carry a spare condenser and a set of feeler guages.

As you have the bearmach kit I'd definitely ditch the electronic module and use everything from the kit., It's unlikely to be duff and will rule out a failure of the module.
While you're at it, check the ignition timing

Still waiting on referb kit but today I replaced coil and leads to no improvement. Next stop, plugs and dizzy cap. Failing that entirely new dizzy!

If you think it's running on 3 cylinders take a spare lead and a plug and one by one check your getting a spark from each outlet on cap it's easier then removing each plug to test spark...if you get a spark on each then check timing...

Ok, update....

I took each plug out and think I’ve found the issue. All plugs were seriously black and caked up. Plug 4 was totally caked up and oily and slightly wet.

Checked mixture and screw was dialed per out pretty far so must have been running very rich for some months!

I’ve filed clean the plugs which are very new, and screwed mixture screw right in then back out two turns. Ran much better. Need to tune it a bit but think that was prob the issue.

Question, is no 4 plug being wet a cause for concern? Gasket blown etc? Or is this simply a symptom of it getting blocked, not firing, and thus gathering oil?

i wouldn't put a file anywhere near a plug.
if you need to clean them, get the end hot with a blue gas flame to burn off/dry all deposits. you should then be able to wipe with a cloth or paper towel
if its wet, it could be unburnt petrol which in isolation is OK
check your plug gap and take it for a nice steady run like shippers said. don't let it sit idling, then check your plugs again

Well I used a mini file to just scrape off the crap and give the gap a couple of shiney surfaces for the spark to jump between. I've a box of new plugs to drop in once I've got the mixture properly set on this set of plugs, but these are only 6 months old so gap is decent, they're hardly used.

Cheers! I'll give that a go as suggested!

I've got a whole new set of leads, new electronic dizzy etc coming so I suppose I might as well upgrade the lot while I'm here but it all appears to have a been simple mixture screw problem! oh well!
