2.25 diesel needs more power..

How can I make a basic diesel give me more power?

Have a spare lump that I can play with, get overhauled etd, just need it to produce more horses, not drastic mods.....

wind the pump out, but dunt go too fatr as it will burn oil and fook up

Already smoking and burning oil....

Between devil and sea here, have a spare lump, that is unknown in its condition, looks sound, but dont want the aggro of fitting it to find that its shagged.....

Sooooo, was toying with the idea of spending some wonga, on a rebore, oversize pistons and rings, plus a head skim and rebuild......

Need the power as may have gone slightly overboard in fitting the 235/85 x 16's, plenty of grunt with 600x16's, but now struggles on slopes....

Not so much a victim, just a realisation that the engine is really getting to a point that it is shagged.....

Smoking heavily when cold, not so bad when warm.....

Reckon that a compression test will show a pretty poor compression in most cylinders.... Re con the engine and all will be well.

if you want power then fit the 6 cylinder injun or the v8.

but if you want good mpg then just recon the one youve got.

you cant really have both qualities though.

My plan was to rebore the lump, new pistons and rings, skim head and have that rebuilt........

All went tits up today when I discovered a 2" crack in the block, weeping water.......

And it had a strong anti freeze mix in it as well!!!!
