For about a couple of miles all is fine then when you push the throttle down for more speed the engine bogs down , all most stops, ease you foot off and it picks up but no acceleration, could it be some sort of carb problem.
Thanks
Chris

If not the above, Given that it starts and runs for some distance/time I recon could be an ignition issue along the lines of a poor spark. Have a feel of your coil when running issues start, if hot could be on the way out.

You can feel the temp of the coil.. you can simulate by leaving the ignition on, engineer off for a few mins and the temp of the coil will rise.. see if that causes the issue..
Still think it's choke though

Had it converted to electronic ignition last year and new fuel pump , it’s been fine until now , I’ll check the choke but that is on a spring and you have to hold the choke button out or it springs back.

I think it’s got a copy on it, it still looks all shiny, can you buy re built original carbs. Just looked on eBay and you can buy a Webber carb.

I fitted a new Webber and it worked fine.
You can get rebuilt original carbs but you need to be sitting down when you see the price.
Buy one in a Webber packaged box would be my advice.

If there are any popping/coughing noises, check for air leaks. If not, it might be worth checking the float bowl for water.

went for a run in it today and it was fine, I’ve done nothing other than give it a blow out in second gear for a while, probably not fixed and I’ll try a Webber carb if , when the problem returns.
