Hi Guys,

Its raining!! Both outside and inside my car?!

I just got in the car after a downpour and the driverside mat is dripping wet! I can see water dripping out from under the dash....i currently have no cover under there for different reasons....

Any ideas? I got a hole in my trainers and don't wanna get wet toes on the way home!

Cheers, James

Could be any number of things; blocked pollen filters, check drain holes on flitch plate, windscreen rubber/bond...... good luck!!!

Just a guess but the pollen filters shouldn't be wet should they??

Nope. They should be bone dry. Good chance that this is the source of your leak. The covers for the pollen filters have a sealing gasket which hardens after a while. Each time I change my filters I run a smidgen of silcone sealer on the gasket and it seams to do the trick.

Hmmm.... I thought they should be dry. The gasket seems ok, I think it's higher up. I took off the plastic bit that us behind the driverside wiper arm and this was caked in crap. Cleaned it all up. In doing this I notice that the black strip that goes along the bottom of the window isn't touching all the way along.... It seems warped. Also not all the little White clip thingys are there.

Now comes the stupid question.....is the black strip the "water proofing" strip at the base of the window? And could this be my problem?

Thanks in advance.

James.

I have same prob mine comes in at top of front window and runs down the corner post on to the floor , I think the prob is on out side the is a flap that runs a long the top of the front window and mine is loose and is lifting up a bit, I can't help on how to fix it as haven't got round to sorting mine yet how time flights when you've got a rr

My experience has been, wind screen bonding, roof seam and pollen filter covers

If the pollen filters are wet, replacing them and re-sealing the covers would be a good place to start. The BECM under the drivers seat doesn't like wet, could be the reason for your cruise control problem. Check the connectors and fuses for corrosion.
