Hello folks
After reading through several threads/posts concerning exhaust replacement etc. I decided to ask a few questions.
Is this and this all I need to do the job or do I need to change exhaust gaskets and what not?
Is it a clean swap or is a bunch of fiddling, prying, cutting, welding required?
... And, are these parts one of the better parts for the job other than (obviously) a stainless option?
I hope the center and rear box are un-restricted.
Yes, I am getting rid of the stupid cat!:D

If youre doing away with the CAT (which, i think, would be an mot fail, if anyone ever noticed) then you may as well get rid of the center box also.

ALSO -

Make sure that the bits you buy couple up. Ive not read the text, but it looks like the downpipe you link to has a bolted flange coupling, but the center box has a split sleeve (possibly?).

If so, you need to get a set that matches one another. They're not (for some reason) all the same IIRC.

You may have issues with the coupling to the turbo - when i swapped my turbo, they were not at all easy to get undone. Expect to use a grinder to get the old exhaust out, as most of the joints will have rusted together - easier to cut out then mess about.

didnt think the de cat would be an mot fail , well hope not as i was thinking of getting rid of mine too

hhhhm, a local exhaust place quoted me 250EUs with original LR stuff.
dunno but seems a little expensive.
Mind you, that includes everything!

Those pipes you linked to are fine, the split on the centre box goes to the rear box, the clamp goes to the downpipe .. ;)

A better option is this http://www.paddockspares.com/pm011-discovery-300tdi-sports-exhaust.html especially if off-roading 'cos the rear box and pipe is susceptible to bending etc and it's much cheaper to replace .. :)

That's the rear and centre that I used, but I used this down pipe http://www.paddockspares.com/esr2297-front-pipe-300tdi-without-flexi.html as The felxy bit is normally the first part to go.

But be warned it's quite a bit louder than the standard pipe, not hot hatch dustbin, but louder.

When I fitted a straight through centre pipe it barely made any difference to the sound .. I've still got it if someone wants one for a 300Tdi Disco .. £10 collected .. Just use it to replace the standard silencer centre box ... :)
