Hey Everyone,

Haven't posted on here much at all, but wondered if I could get some advice on some issues with me new 1995 (p38?) range rover vogue.

First off, I have been getting a strange issue where the dash lights, Ie rev counter, speedo etc turn off for a second, then all the lights come on as though I have just turned on the ignition, then it goes back to normal. It sometimes happens when I lock the car inside by pressing down the lock while i'm driving.

Next issue is that all the windows and the sunroof have mysteriously stopped working.

Finally, when I have been driving for maybe half hour, and pull up at home, I can hear various clicks and ticks from under the bonnet, which go on for a short time.

Hopefully its all just quirks and nothing serious but any advice is welcome!

Cheers

sounds like poor electrical connections, try as a first step that the leads on the battery are tight and fully home. then check connections to the becm.

it sounds like when you operate something it is killing power to the ignition??? maybe the battery is on its way out. get it checked aswell.

I'm not sure. The car drives fine and when it happens i'm actually driving and the lights on the dash go off then come straight back on again, like a glitch.
The battery is brand new, but wiring is an option as some of the lights on the air conditioning console have gone too.

I'll check, thanks for advice :)

Check out rangerovers.net to establish which RR you have, the more research you do, the easier it will be to get help from the forum as you will be able to give accurate info.

I suspect you have a late Range Rover Classic, not a P38. I don't think they used vogue on the early P38's.

The various clicks and ticks are likely to be the air suspension self levelling (if fitted) or else the normal cooling sounds a car makes as the exhaust, block, rad etc cool down unless you have a more specific sound in mind.

Hi,

Thanks for reply.

I have had a look and I believe it to be a P38 and it has a vogue badge. Its a 4.0 Litre V8 and Automatic, Heated seats, Air con, Leather, etc, this pic is my Range rover, except mine has a vogue badge lol I guess the guy could of put a vogue badge on ? :p

Anyway thanks for reply. I really wanted to hear that I didnt have an expensive computer chip replacement to do as I will be getting the garage I bought it off to pay for that if it is the case.

Cheers once again for reply.
