Does anyone know of a way to bypass the driver side power seat ecu to regain the seat movement. I dont really care about the power mirrors as im aware you have to have the ecu to use the mirrors, but as for the seat I need it to work and dont feel like coughing up 500 dollars for a new one. As for some background I bought my rangie 1 1/2 years ago and the driver side power seat has never worked. It also had alot of other issues with electrical gremlins, and now that ive fixed all the other ones it come down to this which I have just started researching a week ago. I should have known they would be expensive but the better mind set me thought "hey maybe it wont be to bad." Well anyways I decided to finally take the ecu out and bugger me its pretty bad. First off the previous owner i like to call him "dick", decided it would be a great idea to instead of buying a replacement battery just hook up 3 AAA 1.2v batterys together to replace it. Although I have heard about this working on another forum he was unfortunately not smart enough to sequence the batteries together correctly and his soldering sucks. Anyways I would like to replace the ecu one day but money is tight from repairing all other things and I really need the seat to work without having to spend all that money right now. My gf and me both drive the car on and off and it gets tiring to go out and connect a power probe to it to move the seat everytime she drives it or I have to drive it. I will leave a picture of the ecu below its not the worst ive seen from looking around but its not the best either. Let me know if you think it could even be repaired. Thanks guys
