Have just bought a 110 Defender.
Said to be a Reconnaissance Vehicle.
1995 with 21000 Kilometers on the clock. Has NATO No. 2390-99-893-8119 and Military Reg No CF 36 AA
Any ideas about its heritage?

I got a record of the Merlin report which will tell which units it's was attached to and when

The email address to send to is: [email protected] and [email protected] (I sent to both and got a reply by post from one but I don't know which :eek:

Send a request in the following format:

Dear Sir / Madam
Request from:
(name)
(address)

Could you please provide Merlin Report and / or details of vehicle history for my (description of vehicle.) I confirm that I am the registered keeper of this vehicle.

The details from the VIN plate are as follows:
(details copied from VIN plate)

If you require further details, or if there is a charge payable, then please let me know. I will be very grateful for any information that you can give me that will help me to restore and maintain this vehicle for the future.

Yeah, they are pretty quick at getting a response out to you. Any pics? U get it direct or second hand, the ones I've seen on Witham's have no roof and rear facing seat against the rear bulkhead.

Tried before with no luck.
Trying again!!!!

Thanks, my 3rd and best by miles!
Sold originally at Heritage vehicle auction as a Special Forces Reconnaissance Vehicle but I don't know how kosher this was. Whatever, is a super vehicle.

Nice looking vehicle but it doesn't look SF to me (none of the 'fancy' bits or redundant fancy bits mounting hardware), pretty ordinary looking FFR but nice all the same

Yes, I wasn't convinced by the blurb either. It'll be interesting to find out!
Previous owner paid 8K+ and then put the tilt on before his wife threatened to leave him - some women!!!
