1989 (G) 90" 3.9 V8 for sale

For sale is my 1989 90" (Defender) 3.9 v8 (Carb).

12 months MOT, Currently SORN.

Where to start? I bought it with the intention of tinkering....It snowballed! Its easier to list whats not new or replaced. But here goes.

Also included for asking price will be a roll of carpet for the rear (professional auto waterproof carpet) and a pair of side windows (factory, tinted bond in type).

All in all this has been a real labour of love and i am not joking when i say no expense has been spared. Its cost me 2.5 years of work and over £10,000.

The Bulkhead has been stripped and overhauled with good thick steel plate. The chassis is solid and strong too.

Originally it had 88k on the clock, TD5 clocks show 135k but the amount of work that has been done negate mileage.

Honest Points to note.

Clocks are intermittent (Fuel gauge works!). Connection fault i dont have time to diagnose at the moment.

Hi/Lo lever will need connecting up if you want to use Lo range (linkage needed).

In all honesty this Land Rover is one of the better ones. It will EASILY last another 23 years. Either run the V8 (Sounds awesome and pulls like a train) or convert it back to diesel for another lifetime of motoring.

The reason its for sale is the family has expanded in recent months and i dont have time to use it as planned. I cannot justify such a vehicle sitting in the driveway unused.

Its keenly priced to sell. I am not scrounging for the final penny out of everything and i dont expect anything back from my efforts and expense over the past couple of years (original stock it cost me £3500). But i am realistic and this good price means i am covered to get a family car and with the Mrs

All in it owes me close to £10500.

I'm looking for as close as i can get to £4500.

I was going to but thought it proved its done virtually no miles since completion.

That is one smart looking 90! If only I had the cash to run two vehicles

my advice would be to finish this wonderful vehicle, MOT it and stick it on Ebay with a starting price of 4500 pounds and no reserve thereafter - you may be surprised at how much it makes.

Unfinished vehicles, even SLIGHTLY unfinished like yours, leave people with a 'why isn't he finishing it?' feeling which makes them uneasy - I know this from experience.

You've done al the hard work it seems to me - a couple of weekends and a few quid would see a superb vehicle that would be a credit you you.

That is a properly smart 90.

Waaaay out of my price range, but prob worth every penny of the asking price.

Time is a wonderful thing. Especially when you dont have enough!

In all honesty work is still ongoing with the dash e.t.c but with a premature baby now at home i dont have the luxury of time to "finish" the final bits.

I'm open to offers.

Are you likely to finish it completely? Because I would definitely buy it!
There is no way way I have the knowledge or time to do any work myself, but if it were finished I would keen to see it.
