Hello to all

I hope to purchase shortly a 1969 series II landy, may only draw back is that it has a canvas cover and although its pretty new i am concerned about leaks.

There is a spare metal cab ,but is it possible to get a full metal cab like on the later models

Also I notice some minor oil spots underneath, is that normal with a vehicle of this age

I have never own a landrover before and as it is tax exempt it fits the bill to enjoy my hobby of metal detecting where I am fortunate that the farmers let me drive on to their land

thanks in advance

mate i would be more worried if ther was no oil spots underneath her:rolleyes:

With regard to a cab mate there is no end to what you can do if you put your mind to it, a Landy is just like a massive mechanno set, everything just bolts on and off.:D:D
Oh any those aren't oil leaks, she is just marking her territory :p:p;);)

If you are worried about leaks then you should stay away from landys.
As for the canvas cover you could fit a steel back but it will probably still leak.

To be honest mate, the canvas roof is probably going to be more weather tight than the metal roof. It will also probably be warmer and less likely to allow condensation to build up when winter arrives.
