First job is to get the engine running, that's the job for this weekend so while I was waiting I brought a pair of wings as the ones with it are series 3

More to come this weekend including hopefully getting it running and part of the strip down of the car

Not much progress this weekend, got it into the garage and started to unbolt the roof to find that the previous owner had painted over all the threads, nuts and bolts with a thick black paint and used coach type bolts on the windscreen, going to have some fun removing these

will be a nice project, i had two of them a few years ago, stripped them both down completely, i was going to use the best bits to make one good one but they ended up getting scrapped :( as i got a job overseas and had to move

best way of handling the coach bolts is to centre punch the dome head then pilot the buggers bout 1/2" deep at 6mm then run the heads off with a 10mm drill bit

theyll come off easy like mahoosive rivvet heads then and not mark the framework ;);)

Got the starter motor installed today, it turns over perfectly with lots if compression, changed the fuel filter as the old one was full of ****e, not getting much fuel from the injector pump so I will check that tomorrow and hopefully some life from it, I when to fill the radiator with antifreeze and got to about 7 litres and thought it was a bit strange how it took so much then saw a puddle of green in the garage, I forgot that the heater pipe was disconnected, ****!

Got some more work done today, roof and sides are off and the injection pump is going to be refurbed next month, hopefully the tub will be off tomorrow

That looks a tidy motor, I will be keeping an eye on the progress. How far are you going with the rebuild and will it be used off-road when done :)

I am keeping everything as it is but cleaning, painting and welding to get the panels back to an acceptable level of quality

Made some more progress today, the seat box and rear tub have come off ready to refit and repair the brackets under the wheel arches

I tried to get it to start but my battery was knackered so another try next weekend

ive finally after some time managed to make some more progress from this weekend, i not have the engine running and took it for its first test drive, only a sort one though as there is no radiator fitted to it, i also took off the fan belt in order for it to hold the coolant in, only running rear wheel drive too as i wanted to try out the difflock too, didnt have any brakes either, i suspect the master cylinders gone as there is fluid but the pedal had no resistance and just goes straight to the floor, hence the use of the handbrake.

but for now here is a video of it first running
YouTube link here

and a video of a test drive

quick update of how it looks now

plan now is to strip the bulkhead off, engine and box out, split the box and engine to check the clutch etc. then get the chassis is to be shot blasted, holes patched and repaired, shultzed all over then bulk head in for shot blasting, repairing, potentially glavenizing, spraying then back in, then clean and spray the engine red
