Keep your fingers crossed the boat anchors buggered then you can get on with fitting a TDi ....'Tis the future ;)

More driveable AND late 30's to the gallon :cool::cool::cool:

Not usually .....

I have a
109 FFR (standard)
88" series 3 Warn winch, coil sprung designa chassis,2.5 Transit engine
88" series 2 TDi

All fully comp,unlimited mileage,breakdown cover,european etc etc

£120 a year for me and the Mrs .....

Soooo Tdi Aint that bad as long as you go to a insurer that knows what they are on about (Footman James)

Depends what you are going to be using it for ....

IF you intend to ever carry any weight including camping gear etc ....Standard ones every time ...ideally original used ones (stripped and re-greased)
IF you are never going to carry anything then good quality (IF you can find them) paras.
Personally i don't like paras on 109's as they limit what you can use it for .

Ok thanks, but with me being 20 years young ....

also Im going to need a pair of springs, parabolics or standard ones

any advice/ideas guys

cheers in advance

A good compromise for a 109 is HD springs on the back and paras on the front. Improved ride without losing weight carrying ability. Also tis important to keep standards well greased. I use a mix of petrol and grease. The petrol helps to draw the grease between the leaves and then evaporates.

if it's knocking don't try getting it running unless you what to totally wreck the engine !

Thanks for the replys guys,

well with regards the "knocking", I got her turning over on sunday only this time with no knock. I did use a bit of easy start which tends to make engines sound abit knocky my opinon,

so the plan of action for friday is to drain and flush the tank, also the fuel lines, clean the filters, and chuck so fresh fuel in and give her a go.

I brought her from P.A. Blanchards at shipton thorpe near Market Weighton, East Yorkshire. she really stood out in the sea of green :D
They said when they got her, she was is a very sweet runner and drove well so I faith in old girl yet. I took the brake shoes out to move her they are all brand spanking new with no wear what so ever the drums are very nice too.

Ive got the panel lights working too on sunday

piccys :)
