Planning on fitting a rear winch to a 130 but idea is to change build it into the cross member and also a receiver hitch mount and possibly a swing away rear carrier.

Being a 130, I can bring the end of the winch mount etc out abit and still not protude beyond the tub. Will help protect the tub too of course.

The actual carrier mount, winch plate and hitch receiver isn't an issue to make but wondering what's the best way to tie them into the chassis.

The chassis and rear crossmember is solid but not sure should I just weld on the new section to the existing crossmember or should I just make a new cross member with the winch, hitch and wheel carrier all built in to begin with?

There are rear winch cross members on flea bay.
I have looked at this before but need to measure the distance between tank & winch to make sure it will fit.
Also as I have a hicap I would extend the chassis legs to the rear tub to gain more space. You may need to make a hole in the back tub to service etc.

You may be able to weld an extra piece of metal to the bottom of the winch tray to accept the tow receiver bolts. use Dixon bate drop hitch. You may need to extend the brace arms onto the chassis.
Receiver should be in about the same position & not affect the winch left/right or fairy lead/roller

Ask any Qs & may be able to help again.

Yea, the winch plate and receiver hitch will be fine. Was just more so wondering would people build onto the current crossmember or just cut the lot off and as you said extend the chassis legs a little and then fit the winch in a new rear crossmember and have it flush with the back of the tub.

Suppose doing it that way would allow more space behind if ever wanted to make a larger fuel tank too.
