12 volt, where to get..

Hi all,

I need some advise.

I just bought my first Disco 2 (2002 TD5 automatic), what a great car to drive and own.

I want to make ans USB point where my kids in the back can charge there phone / ipad. I know where to dril etc etc, but where is the easiest to drain 12 volt? (the USB unit will be build in the centre console back side, in place of the ashtray).

Underneeth the front chairs (electric and heathed) are a lot of wires and plugs, but no mather where i measure, can't seem to find a 12 volt wire..

Put a usb charger in the cigarette lighter?

Allready in use for the phones in the front, still the original radio, so with a cassete deck (with a tape inside for bluetooth connection). So the dubbel charger in the front is allready in use.

There is one at the side of the rear passenger seat.

Welcome to the asylum. I fitted this by the rear seat belt 'cover' you could fit one each side if you wanted to (I can charge things in the boot & truck at the same time).

The one in the load bay is the easiest but you may want to be running your cool box from it, so it'll need an adaptor!

Hi, then there must be 12V on the brown/purple wire in the power relay's socket C975 , it's present on both seats

I'm sure you know this and have it covered, but USBs put out 5v
